Diabetic Foot Assessment Services

At our clinic, we offer a comprehensive suite of specialized services to assess the risk of diabetic foot complications. Each of these services is designed to provide an accurate diagnosis, preventive care, and comprehensive follow-up.

Exploring sensitivity

Diabetes can affect the nerves in the feet, causing a progressive loss of sensation known as peripheral neuropathy. Using specialized tools such as monofilament and vibration testing, we evaluate the foot’s ability to detect touch and pressure stimuli. This allows us to identify at-risk areas that could be exposed to injury without the patient realizing it.

Circulation exploration

Poor blood flow in the feet can lead to serious problems such as ulcers or infections. We perform a detailed assessment of peripheral circulation using tests such as the ankle-brachial index (ABI) or Doppler ultrasound. This examination helps us detect early signs of ischemia or vascular insufficiency.

Thermographic Imaging

Thermography is an advanced tool that allows us to measure the temperature of the skin on the foot. Using thermal imaging cameras, we detect areas of inflammation or excessive cold, which could be indicative of infections, developing ulcers, or blood flow problems. This noninvasive technique is fast, accurate, and very useful in the early detection of complications.

Risk Classification

After analyzing the results of the previous tests, we classify each patient’s risk level on a personalized scale. This diagnosis allows us to develop preventive plans and treatments tailored to each individual’s needs, helping to avoid major complications such as amputations or chronic infections.

Custom templates

We create custom insoles to ensure maximum comfort and correct biomechanical abnormalities that affect posture and foot health. After a personalized gait analysis, we design insoles tailored to each patient’s needs.

Reconstructive Foot Surgery

We offer reconstructive surgery to correct deformities and improve foot function through small, minimally invasive procedures that reduce pain and facilitate a better gait. These techniques are especially indicated for patients with structural abnormalities that affect foot support and stability.

Our Preventive Approach

In addition to technical evaluation, we promote patient education as a fundamental pillar of diabetic foot care.

We offer guidance on:

  • Daily foot care.
  • Selecting appropriate footwear.
  • Early recognition of warning signs, such as non-healing wounds.

Who Should Conduct This Assessment?

People with type 1 or type 2 diabetes.

Patients with a history of diabetic ulcers or amputations.

Those who experience loss of sensation, persistent cold feet, or skin changes.
